Octber 25, 2019Know Your Classmates DayAn Initiative of Beyond Differences

About Know Your Classmates

Know Your Classmates is a curriculum, a campaign and a national awareness day designed to create and nurture healthy and open relationships between classmates, particularly focused on middle school students, from the moment school starts this fall.

It was created and designed by teachers for teachers to address the challenge of how we, as educators, help middle school youth become more self-aware about their own family’s identity, traditions and culture while learning acceptance, inclusion and respect for their classmates as well.

Know Your Classmates (KYC) is an initiative of Beyond Differences' aimed at combating hateful language, anxiety, and fear of differences among middle school students. All children in our school communities are affected.

Our curriculum is aligned with Common Core ELA standards and CASEL SEL Competencies. All student worksheets and presentations are available in English and Spanish.

We're so thrilled that over 1200 schools participated in Know Your Classmates Day in 2018! National Know Your Classmates Day is on October 25, 2019. However, you can plan your own Know Your Classmates activities any day of the year! Inclusive communities are safer communities. We will be shipping activity kits to the first 1000 schools to register! Sign up today to immediately access all of our Know Your Classmates™ materials online!
